Hi, I’m Colette—a 49-year-old navigating life with a love for movement, balance, and holistic well-being. My journey didn’t start in wellness, though. I spent nearly two decades in the corporate IT world before a gentle nudge led me down a different path—one that felt far more aligned with who I am.
In 2006, I took a part-time fitness course with NCEHS, initially just to train smarter myself. But before long, I found myself teaching interval training classes to my colleagues during the week and guiding them through Yin Yoga sessions on Fridays. What started as a personal interest became something much bigger.
For years, I had the joy of teaching Yin Yoga at River Holistic in Raheny, building a community where people could move, breathe, and—just as importantly—laugh together. When the world shut down, I transitioned online, keeping that same sense of connection alive through the screen.
My love for holistic health goes back even further. As a child, I watched a Reflexologist ease my mum’s pain during her cancer journey, and it left a lasting impression on me. In 2014, I became a Reflexologist myself, later volunteering with ARC Cancer Care. These days, I offer Reflexology from my home, and I continue to be amazed at the profound effect this therapy can have.
In 2018, life threw me a curveball—a lump in my right breast. The initial shock turned into a journey of recovery, and six years later, I stand here cancer-free and deeply grateful. That experience only strengthened my belief in a balanced approach to wellness—one that nourishes both body and soul. As I often say, "If you don’t make time for your wellness, you may be forced to make time for your illness."
What I Do Now
I now offer early morning online classes designed to support whole-body wellness. Each week, we focus on:
Strength – Two sessions of weight training
Cardio & Endurance – Two sessions of Zone 2 training
Mindfulness & Recovery – A midweek class combining pranayama, meditation, and yoga
It’s a simple, balanced routine—one that builds strength, supports longevity, and keeps us moving well—all before breakfast!
I also teach community-based classes in partnership with Dublin City Council, focusing on older adults and those looking for gentle yet effective movement. From Chair Yoga to Chair Fitness to full-body exercise classes, these sessions have grown into a vibrant and supportive community. It’s a privilege to witness how movement can change lives. I truly believe, "It’s not about how long we live, but how well we live and “We don’t stop moving when we get older, we get older when we stop moving.”
To deepen my work with older adults, I completed the FAME (Falls Management Exercise Programme) last year with LaterLife Training. With falls expected to cost Ireland over €2 billion in the next 25 years, I’m passionate about helping people stay strong, mobile, and independent for as long as possible.
A Space for Wellness
This little corner of the internet is where I share insights on movement, yoga, strength training, reflexology, workshops, essential oils, and natural products—along with some reflections from my own journey.
Wherever you are in your wellness path, I’d love to help you find what works for you. 💛
